In these next few months, we will explore the main values of conscious communication.
The first value that we want to share is presence!
When you are present, you are attentive-to the situation, to yourself, to others, and to your environment. Through presence, you can tune into the vibration of the moment and communicate appropriately.
Do you sometimes communicate in a way that is reactive to past experiences, or already projecting expectations for the future?
If you have been hurt, you may find yourself communicating from a defensive place even when those around you may be caring and kind.
If you have felt humiliated, you may observe that you are trying to prove something to your community, even if they already believe in you.
When you are fully present, you can communicate with clarity in any situation.
Here are a few ways to bring your awareness into the present:
- Notice where you are.
- Who is involved in the situation, and how does it make you feel?
- What is your role in the situation?
- How is your breath?
- What is happening?
When you are fully present in a situation, you can recognize your location, like a personal GPS, which allows you to enter into conscious communication.
I suggest exploring presence through the month of February.
